Who We Are

Dwelling Place is committed to creating housing options that keep people in their communities and meet the needs of each household. As a Community Land Trust (CLT), we keep ownership of the land but sell the homes on it to income-qualified buyers at prices that work for them. Our model is designed to help income-qualified families own homes affordably—and keep them affordable for future generations.

2080 Union Homes

Dwelling Place is developing new, single-family homes in the Garfield Park Neighborhood of Grand Rapids. The vacant lot at 2080 Union will be transformed into 42 homes, including two new city streets and a resident courtyard and greenspace. Grandville Homes

An existing Dwelling Place property, Grandville Homes, located in Grand Rapids, is DP’s initial CLT opportunity site. Any current resident who is renting one of these homes will not be displaced by the CLT, but rather, when a home becomes vacant it will be renovated and available for purchase within the CLT.
